What brought you and your family to New Zealand? How old were you when you moved to New Zealand? I was born in Cape Town, which is such a stunner of a place. It's just not the safest, nor necessarily a mecca of opportunity. My folks moved us to New Zealand for a better quality of life, and I'm super grateful for that. I was around 12 years old and I remember how much of a culture shock it was. What led you to music? What were you drawn to in those early years?
My dad sang and played guitar and my mom recorded music with her church choir back in the day, so loving music came naturally. A month later P-Money chose it as the lead single and title for what was to prove a breakthrough album. Harder also featured in the video shoot. He knows how a song should be performed and also how it should be constructed.
The machine wanted more dance music and radio hits but what he really wanted to do was RnB. My passion was to do stuff more on the urban side.

It was full circle and back to urban basics. While no local chart crasher itself, the album drew more attention to his work and soon he was writing and producing for others. Warner Music NZ charged him with writing and producing music for an upcoming boy-band act. Only trouble was he had just signed on to an 18 month-long Australasian stint in the musical Jersey Boys.
They were singing my songs, and then… wow, they got five songs in the Top 40! It was in that his own songwriting and production company, Harder Music Group began taking shape. Based in Parramatta, Sydney, the pan-Australasian venture aims to creating a unique and fresh sound and culture in pop music. The long term plan is to develop more artists on this side of the world. Help them as a production house and then find a home for them as well, whether with HMG or not.
Basically just creating a platform for other artists for us to be able to develop and nurture them. It started off just as a music production company, but some of the clients wanted videos, so I offered that as part of the service — and started directing the videos too!
HMG has a marketing and distribution deal with Warner. All three albums debut at the bottom of the chart. They recorded the song after meeting at The X Factor last year. The song crashes into the chart at the top, pushing Pharrell Williams off his 13 week pedestal and lessening his chance to take On Boney M for the record of most weeks at the top with one song.

Should he stay one more week though, he will hold the record for most weeks at number one with one single. Ellie Goulding has this weeks highest new single. Beating Heart is the first single from the soundtrack to the movie Divergent which is currently the number one movie in the land.
The soundtrack, which includes songs from Zedd, Snow Patrol and others, is also new this week, at 38 on the album chart. English lass Paloma Faith last charted here in This week her third single and album enter the chart. Now the Swede has a hit of her own with Stay High entering the chart at His last Cinema Paradiso from failed to chart, here but a compilation of his work hasn't. That album enters the chart at There have been allot of new artists enter the albums chart for the first time this year and this week is no exception.

Now his first single makes an appearance. This week it debuts here at Topping the charts in Austria, Am I Wrong is new here at LZ7 are a Christian rap and dance group from Manchester. To date their biggest hit came in with Twenty Seven Million peaking at 12 in England.
